Paper Title :: Learning Analytics for support and enhancement of self-regulated learning: Systematic review

Learning analytics is a field that brings with it new possibilities on how to understand the learning process. In this review we explore the current research on use of learning analytics to support and enhance self-regulated learning (SRL).We draw useful insights on how to future research can borrow from already existing work while embracing new technologies. The search for relevant literature was done using identified search terms on internationally recognized scientific databases. Initial filter resulted in 43 papers but after doing further investigation of the abstracts and objectives, 27 papers fit the search criteria. A notable finding in this nascent field is that despite the significant increase in use of learning management systems in higher education to collect learners' data, the study of self-regulated learning requires data that is not intentionally collected by such systems. Accordingly, researchers have explored other systems as better SRL data collection vehicles which have produced promising results. These new enriched data sets together with advanced analytics techniques give us better ways to understand the learning process and how we can best improve it.

An ontology is a complex information object. It can contain millions of concepts in complex relationships. This creates the need to establish a small ontology as an alternative version of a base ontology. This paper aims to present the different mechanism of creating an ontology views. Ontology views are argued to offer a solution to large and unwieldy ontologies, providing custom views that can act as ontologies in their own right. The survey is structured such as to give a brief overview of what ontology views are, what work has been done to generate ontology views from both a query or algorithmic perspective.

In this paper we collect the twenty primary air pollutant substances are measured in Sanathnagar region of Hyderabad, Telangana state, India by the State Pollution Control Board at different time instances. A sample of 14,641 observations on 20 variables. And an attempt is made to analyze the significance of twenty variables based on 14,641 observations using some basic statistical tools and advanced multivariate statistical techniques.

Thin films of ZnO semiconductor nanorods (ZnO-nr) of 6 um length have been sensitized with FeS2 ultra fine particles. Both the optical absorption and the photocurrent action spectra of ZnO-nr, ZnO nanoparticulate (ZnO-np) electrodes were extended to visible region, upon coating with FeS2 particles, by sensitization mechanism. Quantum size effect is manifested by a blue shift in both absorption and photocurrent action spectrum. PIA (Photoinduced absorption spectroscopy), where the excitation is provided by a square-wave modulated (on/off) monochromatic diode light source, is a multipurpose tool in the study of dye-sensitized solar cells. Here, we use PIA as a tool for the study of a quantum-dot modified metal oxide nanostructrued electrode. The PIA spectra showed an evidence for long-lived photoinduced charge separation. Time-resolved PIA showed that recombination between electrons and holes occurs on a millisecond timescale. Incident-Photon-to-Current Efficiency about 25% has been obtained at 400 nm excitation for ZnO-nr electrodes comparing only 13% for ZnO-np electrodes. ZnO-nr (1D network) based pyrite photoelectrode shows best photoresponse and e-transfer mechanistic than ZnO-np based pyrite solar cell. The better solar cell performance of FeS2 on ZnO-nr over ZnO-np can be ascribed to the faster, unidirectional e-transport channels through the ZnO-nr as well as the longer electron lifetimes. The lower performances of electrodes can be explained by the presence of FeS2 phases other than the photoactive pyrite phase, as evidenced from XRD study

In the past decades, demographic and cultural changes are reshaping the Israeli society: It changed from a society constructed of a clear majority and minority to a society that is constructed of four central sectors or "tribes" that resemble in their size: secular; national-religious; orthodox; Arabs.The president, in coordination with the planning and budgeting committee of the Council for Higher Education have launched the project "Israeli Hope in the Academia", since the academia has an essential role in shaping the "new Israeli order". The project's aim is to base the campuses as spaces for creating shared Israelite society that enables maintaining the unique identity of each group, to express the talents and excellence of the Israeli society, to promote a united vision of partnership in the universities and colleges, to develop an Israeli intellectual, social and diverse leadership that is aware and attentive. Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) has developed an integral system of environmental education and training. The course is named ―Green Ambassadors‖, and the goal is to educate the next generation environmental education. The teams of five -graders and six -graders from ―Al Omariya‖ school in Ramla have been chosen to take part in the project.

Real world applications have the potential to bring learning mathematics to a new, exciting, even authentic level for students. Based on the tenets of experiential learning theory students learn through meaningful and collaborative experiences with the dimensions, usage, regulations, and design of local parking lots. Initially conducted with a small group of students, the resulting enthusiasm from students and teachers, additional ideas and activities were created. The activities outlined here use arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics into studies of architecture, engineering, and other areas that depend on mathematics at their core. The premise of these activities comes from a creative approach of teaching students, using an actual structure to understand how mathematics was used to design it and how mathematics can be applied to improve it. At each stage, the process goes from data to knowledge, to information, and finally to wisdom. Students from middle school to community colleges and above can use these activities to apply mathematics directly in their community.
