Paper Title :: Manatees Mortality Analysis at Los Bitzales, Tabasco, by Remote Sensing
Author Name :: Ricardo Adolfo Hidalgo Rodríguez || Amanda Oralia Gómez González || Mario Manuel Arreola Santander
Country :: México
Page Number :: 01-15
The importance of the study of the environment lies in the consequences to health that can be generated from a problem, in an era full of industrial and technological development. Most of these investigations are carried out in field, however, nowadays measurements made from space contribute to its development. The present work shows the application of remote sensing satellites in a particular case in the state of Tabasco, Mexico, where there was an unusual increase in the mortality rate of manatees (Trichechus manatus) in the protected natural area known as the Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve (PCBR).
